2017 – 2018

2017 is done …

2018 has just begun …

The holidays are over and we plunge into the new year full of vim and vigor for having our best year ever. This will be our year of years!

I noticed a number of Facebook posts wishing and praying for 2018 to be a year of less trials and tribulations than those that occurred in 2017. This is a normal desire for we humans want a less hectic life. It’s just part of our survival instinct.

Now, we have a dilemma. On the one hand we are looking forward to our best year ever. While on the other hand, we desire a less stressful year. We can’t have both. We know that our best year ever, calls for us to do things differently. If we continue to do the same things we have done in 2017, chances are pretty good we will get the same results we got in 2017.

Somehow, we have to merge these desires so they are inclusive. What if we wished and prayed for us to become strong and better by working through the trials and tribulations that come our way? Wouldn’t that help produce our best year ever?

Of course, doing so will put us into feeling uncomfortable. We always become uncomfortable when we step outside of what’s familiar and comfortable. However, it’s required. A lump of coal became a diamond only after having extreme pressures exerted upon it.

So, if we want a diamond year, we must embrace the stresses that come.

Otherwise, our 2018 will be another lump of coal year.

Have a wonderful day!
